Mmmm… tea….

Recently, in the comments section of the blog I like and occasionally comment on, someone didn’t like my flippant attitude towards TEA party members and the fact that I refer to them as Teabaggers. I thought to myself: maybe I am wrong. Maybe the Teabaggers are not the people I imagine them to be. But how would one go about discovering these things? Google to the rescue! A search for “tea party”returned several results. The first two were Wikipedia articles. The third one was http://www.teapartypatriots.org. Nice website, not particularly rich in information though they do sell colouring books. And then there it was: the blogs section. Jackpot! I don’t have a ton of time so I picked two blogs at random.

Blog #1:

Apparently, 27 times 65 is 7,555. Go figure! Is this mathiness?

Blog #2:

Yes, horrible. It’s the end of the world. Next thing you know, he’ll be bombing and shooting people like those brown muslins in Oslo. Oh, no, wait…

Should I keep looking or can I stick with my previous opinion?

Another day, another ridiculous lawsuit over publicity rights.

As ready on Daily Mail / Mail Online website:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2016932/Kim-Kardashian-sues-Old-Navy-ad-lookalike-Melissa-Molinaro-Reggie-Bushs-new-girl.html?ito=feeds-newsxml

Kim Kardashian is suing Old Navy for commercial featuring Melissa Molinaro who does look like Kardashian. Here are some interesting issues that I can see:

1. Quote from the article: “Kim filed her federal lawsuit against Old Navy in Los Angeles today, asserting that the company are using the double in order to make people believe she is associated with the label.”

–  That would be interesting to try to prove since MM is an existing starlet. Her career may be helped along by the fact that she does look like KK (just look at the initials!) but she is a separate person. Since the lawsuit would virtually bar MM from modeling because of her looks then I wounder if MM would have grounds to sue KK for commerce interference? If this does go to court, then I suggest calling Reggie Bush to testify. He has dated KK for three years and is currently dating MM. Perhaps he could specify whether they’re more different or alike.

2. Quote from the article:  “A statement from Kim’s representation reads: ‘Old Navy launched a multimedia advertising campaign featuring television and online ads that misappropriate Kardashian’s likeness in the form of a celebrity look-alike, and styled the infringing ads to evoke Kardashian’s identity and persona.’ ”

– Actually the ad isn’t an infringing one since the ad agence did not copy someone else’s advertisement. What is infringing, are apparently Miss Molinaro’s looks. And I doubt KK can claim a copyright on her looks. That would belong to her plastic surgeon and/or god almighty.

3. Quote from the article: ” ‘Kim Kardashian is immediately recognisable, and is known for her look and style. Her identity and persona are valuable. When her intellectual property rights are violated, she intends to enforce them,’ her lawyer [intellectual property attorney Gary Heckler] added. ”

– Since when the mannerisms and looks are intellectual property? Again, the only ones of the claim here are the potential deities and MD’s.

All in all, a ridiculous lawsuit though not nearly is insane as White v Samsung or Lohan v eTrade…

Oh, what a feeling!

I saw something earlier and wanted to take a picture but the image was gone too fast. And I looked around to see if someone else had seen what I saw but since all my friends are imaginary, they weren’t much fucking help. What I’m pretty sure I saw was a mangy-looking bald guy with a longish many biker beard wearing the signature orange and black Harley-Davidson leather jacket, accompanied by equally biker looking friends (all in all there were two males and two females) driving a 2009 electric blue Nissan Versa. It did sound like a motorcycle though. They had to have had tinkered with a muffler. Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt. It is simply mind boggling! To what level of self-hate does one biker (let alone a group of them) have to sink in order to get inside a complete dork-mobile? And I know that Nissan Versa is a dork-mobile because I used to drive one. I did used to drive a Versa until I decided that it’s just too bad I don’t look enough like a fucking yuppy asshole so I bought a front-wheel drive mid-size SUV. Silver coloured.

First Law of Thermodynamics vs. Perpetuum Mobile

So there’s this guy who took photographs of young Michael Jackson and is now selling them to get the money to test the perpetuum mobile contraption he claims to have invented. That’s Latin for perpetual motion and the Law of Conservation of Energy and the First Law of Thermodynamics make the existence of such a machine in our Newtonian physics universe impossible. People have been claiming to have had invented those perpetual motion machines for a long time but the the only perpetual thing about them is the perpetual stream of uneducated idiots with God complex that claim they can create energy out of nothing.
